How to use it
Type what the video is about in plain words ("start a YouTube channel", "Tally Prime GST entry"). If you're comparing two things, add the second one. Pick a title you like and edit it — these are starting points, not finished titles.
What makes a title work
- Say what the viewer gets. "Make soft idli without a grinder" beats "My idli experiment".
- Front-load the search phrase. Phones cut titles around 60 characters in search results.
- One promise, kept. If the title says 5 minutes, the method should take 5 minutes. Misleading titles hurt retention and can break YouTube's metadata policy.
- Match the thumbnail. The thumbnail should add to the title, not repeat it word for word.
Test, don't guess
YouTube lets you test thumbnails, and you can change titles after publishing. If a video's click-through rate is well below your channel average after 48 hours, try a different title from this list.
Frequently asked questions
How long should a YouTube title be?
Up to 100 characters are allowed, but aim to keep the key words in the first 60.
Should I use capital letters?
Sentence case or title case both work. Full capitals read as shouting and look spammy in Indian search results.
Can I write titles in Hinglish?
Yes, if that's how your audience searches. Many Indian viewers type Hinglish like 'ghar par paneer kaise banaye'.
