A title has two jobs: tell YouTube what the video is about, and convince a scrolling person to tap. For Indian audiences there are a few extra wrinkles — language, script and price-sensitivity — that generic advice misses.
Write in the language people type
Most Hindi-speaking viewers search in Hinglish: "mobile hang ho raha hai kya kare", not "मोबाइल हैंग हो रहा है क्या करें". The same goes for Tamil, Telugu and Bengali viewers using Roman script. Put the phrase people type at the front of the title, and use native script in the thumbnail where it reads well.
Weak: मोबाइल की समस्या का समाधान Better: Mobile Hang Problem Solution — 5 Settings (Hindi)
Front-load the important words
Phones show roughly 60 characters in search results. If the search phrase is at the end, it's cut off.
Weak: Today I'm going to show you how I file my ITR online Better: ITR Filing Online 2026 — Step by Step for Salaried (Hindi)
Numbers and prices work
Indian viewers respond strongly to concrete numbers: budgets, years, prices, counts.
- "Best Phone Under ₹15,000 (Camera Test)"
- "Goa Trip in ₹10,000 — 3 Days Plan"
- "7 Excel Formulas Every Office Job Needs"
Promise one thing, then deliver it
"Lose 10 kg in 7 days" will get clicks and destroy retention — and risks YouTube's misleading-metadata rules. A title that slightly under-promises and over-delivers builds returning viewers.
Patterns that tend to work
- How to + result: "How to Make Soft Idli Without Grinder"
- X vs Y: "Jio vs Airtel 5G — Real Speed Test in Pune"
- Mistakes: "5 Mistakes New YouTubers Make in Hindi"
- Specific audience: "Tally Prime for Small Shop Owners"
The title generator fills these patterns in with your topic.
Patterns to avoid
- ALL CAPS — reads as shouting.
- Clickbait celebrity names who aren't in the video.
- "Part 1" without context — new viewers don't know what series it's from.
- Keyword stuffing — "tally tally prime tally gst tally hindi".
Test and update
Check click-through rate after 48 hours. If it's well below your channel's usual, try a different title (and thumbnail) from your shortlist. Change one at a time so you know which made the difference.
