YouTube link format guide

By YTBoost Team

Which link for which service

Service Link type Example
Subscribers Channel youtube.com/@yourhandle
Views, likes, comments, watch time Video youtube.com/watch?v=dQw4w9WgXcQ
Shorts views, Shorts likes Shorts youtube.com/shorts/aBcDeFgHiJk
Live viewers, live likes, live chat Live stream youtube.com/live/xxxxxxxxxxx
Community post likes, poll votes Post youtube.com/post/Ugkx…
Comment likes Comment video link with &lc=…

The order box checks the link as you paste it. If it's the wrong type, it tells you and doesn't let you pay.

Copying links on Android and iPhone

Channel link: open your channel → tap the three dots (top right) → Share → Copy link.

Video link: open the video → tap Share under the player → Copy link.

Shorts link: open the Short → tap Share (arrow icon on the right) → Copy link.

Live link: open your live stream on the watch page → Share → Copy link. Order only once the stream is live.

Community post link: open the post → three dots → Share → Copy link.

Copying links on a computer

  • Channel: go to your channel page and copy the address bar. It looks like youtube.com/@yourhandle.
  • Video or Short: open it and copy the address bar.
  • Comment: click the comment's timestamp ("2 days ago") — the address bar now includes &lc=. Copy it.

Links that work, and links that don't

✓ Works ✗ Doesn't work
https://youtu.be/dQw4w9WgXcQ?si=abc studio.youtube.com/video/…
m.youtube.com/watch?v=… Playlist links (list= only)
youtube.com/@handle/videos Private or unlisted videos (for most services)
youtube.com/shorts/…?feature=share Links from other sites (Instagram, Facebook)

Before you paste

  • Make sure it's public. Private and unlisted videos can't receive most services.
  • Turn off "made for kids" for watch time, comments and likes on videos — comments and some features are disabled on made-for-kids content.
  • Show your subscriber count for subscriber orders (Studio → Settings → Channel → Advanced settings).
  • Allow embedding for watch-time orders (Studio → video → Show more → Allow embedding).

Common mix-ups we see

A video link on a subscribers order. It's the most frequent mistake by a distance. Subscribers belong to a channel, so the order needs the channel's own link. If you're on a video, tap the channel name under it first, then copy that page's link.

The Shorts link for a long video, or the other way round. A Short opened on a computer sometimes shows as youtube.com/shorts/ID, but if you open the same ID as watch?v=ID it plays like a normal video. Use the Shorts link for Shorts services; we treat the two differently because YouTube does.

A scheduled Premiere or live stream link too early. The link exists before the event starts, but nothing can be delivered to a waiting room. For live viewers, order after you go live. For Premiere views, check the service page for timing.

A link copied from a WhatsApp forward. Forwards sometimes wrap the URL in a preview or add extra text. Paste just the link itself; the box trims spaces and tracking parameters but can't fix a cut-off ID.

Channel IDs, handles and old custom URLs

YouTube channels can be reached three ways: the new @handle, the permanent channel/UC… ID, and older c/ or user/ custom URLs. All three work in the order box. If you changed your handle recently, use the channel/UC… link — it never changes — so the order isn't affected by the switch.

Frequently asked questions

Why was my link rejected?

The link type didn't match the service — for example a video link on a subscribers order. The order box says which type it expects.

Can I use a youtu.be short link?

Yes, for videos. We convert it to the full link automatically.

Do links with "?si=" or "&feature=share" work?

Yes. We strip tracking parameters automatically.

Can I use a Studio link?

No. studio.youtube.com links only work for you when logged in. Use the public link.

My channel has no @handle. What do I use?

Use the channel link with the ID — youtube.com/channel/UC… — which every channel has.
