Why 4,000 hours is the wall

Most Indian channels reach 1,000 subscribers long before 4,000 hours. Shorts brought subscribers easily after 2021, but Shorts watch time doesn't count toward the 4,000 hours, so channels end up at 3,000 subscribers and 700 eligible hours. Hindi and regional channels that post 6–8 minute videos need enormous view counts to add up hours: at 3 minutes average view duration, 4,000 hours is 80,000 views of long-form content in a year.

Before you order: the checklist

The order box makes you confirm these, because they decide whether the hours count:

1. The video is 35 minutes or longer (or the length your option states).
2. It's Public.
3. It's not made for kids.
4. Embedding is allowed.

Also check the video has no copyright claim blocking it in India, and that it isn't a live stream that's still processing.

Smart ways to use the package

Split across your two or three longest videos. A 70-minute podcast and a 2-hour livestream replay each taking 2,000 hours looks more like a channel with a couple of long favourites than a single video with an impossible watch pattern.

Order the gap, not the full amount. If you have 1,900 eligible hours, 2,100 is enough. Less purchased traffic means a cleaner channel for review.

Keep uploading. A channel that stops uploading the week it hits 4,000 hours and applies for YPP the next day presents the pattern reviewers look for.

Fix reused content first. The most common YPP rejection for Indian channels isn't watch time at all — it's "reused content": compilations, movie clips, reaction channels with little commentary, slideshow channels. Watch time doesn't fix that.
