YouTube intro and outro script templates

Hook-first intro lines for the first 10 seconds and outros that send viewers to your next video — filled in with your topic.

Intros (first 10 seconds)

Intro 1

In the next 8 minutes I'll show you exactly how to [your topic] — including the one step most people skip.

Intro 2

If you've ever tried to [your topic] and given up halfway, this video is for you.

Intro 3

This is the result. Now let me show you how I got here — [your topic], start to finish.

Outros

Outro 1

That's how to [your topic]. If you're stuck on any step, drop the timestamp in the comments and I'll reply. Next, watch this video on screen — it covers what to do after.

Outro 2

If this saved you time, subscribing is how you'll catch part two. See you there.

Why the first 10 seconds matter

YouTube's retention graph usually shows the biggest drop in the first 30 seconds. Viewers decide quickly whether this video will give them what the title promised. Long logos, "hi guys, welcome back", and asking people to subscribe before you've helped them all cost viewers.

How the templates work

Type the topic and the video's length. You'll get three intro styles:

  1. The promise — what they'll get and how long it takes.
  2. The pain point — speaks to people who've tried and failed.
  3. The result first — show the finished thing, then explain.

And two outros that point to a specific next video rather than just saying "subscribe".

Make them yours

Read the line aloud in your own voice and change words until it sounds like you talking, not a script. Hinglish creators often switch mid-sentence — that's fine if it's how you speak.

Frequently asked questions

Should I ask viewers to subscribe at the start?

Usually not. Ask once you've delivered something useful.

How long should an intro be?

Under 15 seconds for most videos.

Do outros affect watch time?

A good outro that points to a next video keeps people on your channel, which adds session watch time.
