You're monetized, earnings crossed the verification threshold, and AdSense says a PIN is on its way by post. Weeks pass and nothing arrives. This is one of the most common problems Indian creators hit — here's what to do.
Why AdSense sends a PIN
Google verifies that the payee's address is real by posting a letter with a 6-digit PIN. Until you enter it, payments can't be issued. It's sent automatically once your balance reaches the verification threshold.
Step 1: Wait the normal time
Letters from Google to India travel by ordinary post and commonly take two to four weeks. Smaller towns and areas with irregular delivery can take longer. Don't request a new PIN on day five — you may end up with two letters and confusion about which PIN is valid (the latest one is).
Step 2: Check your address carefully
Most "lost" PINs are address problems. In AdSense → Payments → Settings, check:
- House or flat number and building name.
- Locality, landmark — Indian postal delivery depends heavily on these.
- PIN code (the postal one!) — a wrong postal code sends the letter to another post office.
- Name — the payee name should be one the postman recognises at that address.
Fix anything wrong before requesting a new PIN.
Step 3: Ask your local post office
Visit the local post office with your ID and ask whether a letter from Google is being held. Letters sometimes sit there when delivery fails.
Step 4: Request a new PIN
After the waiting period AdSense specifies (typically a few weeks), you can request a new PIN from AdSense → Verifications. There's a limit on how many times you can request one.
Step 5: If none arrive
If you've used the allowed PIN requests and none arrived, AdSense's help centre provides an alternative verification route, usually by submitting identity and address documents. Follow the steps shown in your AdSense account; they change from time to time.

Your earnings are safe in your AdSense balance while you sort this out. Keep uploading — and make sure your tax information and bank details are complete so payment can go out as soon as verification is done. More on the payment side in our YPP India guide.
