YouTube embed code generator

Get responsive embed code for your website, with options for start time, autoplay, controls and privacy-enhanced mode.

The video owner must allow embedding (Studio → video → Show more → Allow embedding).

How to use it

Paste the video link, choose options, and copy the code into your site's HTML (WordPress: use a Custom HTML block).

  • Responsive wraps the player so it fills the width of its container at 16:9 — it works on phones without extra CSS.
  • Privacy-enhanced mode uses youtube-nocookie.com, which doesn't set YouTube cookies until the visitor presses play.
  • Autoplay only works if the video starts muted — browsers block autoplay with sound.

Embeds and your channel

Views from embedded players count as normal views and appear in Studio under "External" traffic. Embedding a tutorial on your own website or blog is a legitimate way to add real views and watch time.

If the embed shows an error

The video owner has turned off embedding (Studio → video → Show more → Allow embedding), or the video is private or age-restricted.

Frequently asked questions

Do embedded views count?

Yes, as long as viewers press play and watch. They show as External traffic.

Why doesn't autoplay work?

Browsers only allow muted autoplay. Tick 'Start muted'.

Is nocookie mode slower?

No, it's the same player.
